Vidhaatha: While NDA Government crossing its half mark of rule, political heat is brewing day after day. Every regional party is running for its share of cake, as PM Narendra Modi wave is waning gradually. Some regional satraps are gone to the extent of dreaming of top post. But the realities are otherwise. No front will succeed its full term without Congress positive role.
Earlier National Front and United Front failed to survive the full term. Only Congress or BJP lead alliances or fronts survived full terms. First, PV Narasimha Rao showed the success path, though with political wrongs, later Manmohan Sing completed two terms though with some hitches. Atal Bihari Vajpayee too led the NDA to its success and completion of full term. Narednra Modi’s absolute majority in second term made front to BJP an irrelevant part. Hence, important allies gone away.
Now Narendra Modi is looking for new friends with arm twisting methods not with friendly gestures. Narendra Modis image in 2021 is not same as 2019 general elections. He is losing the ground in many North Indian states. Opposition parties mainly regional parties woke up early and trying to grab the space, where as Congress is still mulling on leadership. But the efforts of regional parties are not going to be fruity without Congress.
Congress is the only party which can Challenge BJP in 300 odd seats throughout the country. In 2019 elections Congress contested 421 Loksabha seats got win in 52 seats and came second in 225 seats. Congress got 19.74 percent of total votes polled. It has shown its winning spree in Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand assembly elections. Recent by elections to Assembly and Loksabha seats in Northern states gave thumping victory to Congress.
Congress has strong presence in Kerala, Karnataka, Gujarat, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana too. All these analytics show that Opposition cannot think of an alternative without Congress, simply depending on or listening to an opportunistic and unprincipled political manipulator.
